Hopefully, as you listened to the video, you could see how your perspective on the role of the government relates to your values. Whether you are progressive (Democrat) or conservative (Republican) in your politics, the role of government is grounded in a balance between rights and responsibilities. For this assignment, you will review resources that explain the concept of rights vs. responsibilities and consider how these relate to you as a citizen. After you digest this information, you will be asked to dissect the differences between rights and responsibilities and think about how a citizen might best balance the two.
