Based on your film choices for the film paper, students will submit an annotated bibliography on their topic using standard font size, 12 pt., double-spaced. An annotated bibliography gives a summary and provides the reader with an evaluation of each source. Each summary should be a concise description of the source’s central idea(s) and provides the reader a general idea of the material, which could include: topic, methodology, and results. Summaries should be between 150-200 words in length.   For this assignment, students will pick a movie from the pre-approved list and ensure that it included in the beginning of the assignment. Students will choose five (5) peer-reviewed articles or books (i.e. books published by a university or academic press), to discuss their topic. The source materials must be published in 2011 or later. Publications previous to this date are not acceptable for this assignment, however, are acceptable to cite in the final policy paper. If a student is unaware if a source is peer-reviewed, you can email the instructor for guidance. Additionally, there are a number of ways to check if a source is peer-reviewed online, which the class will discuss in-person.   Finally, this assignment should follow ASA (American Sociology Association) style citations. In order to receive full credit, students need to include their name, date, assignment name, and course number.
