See attachments!! Directions: Consider the five elements that our textbook to be included in an introduction section (Research purposes have been developed in Assignment #4). See our Bb materials and textbook for additional detail about each element.  5 elements to include:  Research Problem. The problem statements should be within a big topic area (not at your school/institution). For example, even if your research will focus on improving students’ attitude toward math in your 1st grade classroom at one school, set the assignment up as a broader situation such as: the study of attitude toward math for primary school children across the U.S. Also consider your “hook” to engage your readers in your study.  Related Literature about the problem. Identify at least 5 (peer reviewed, empirical) articles that are relevant to your study. These should mix qualitative and quantitative research primarily. Mixed methods can be supporting articles but are not required. If desired, other sources (e.g., review articles, books, websites) may be used as additional support. Note in your reference section if an article is qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method (See example below). These studies will be synthesized in your introductions to show support for your study, collapsing major findings across articles (and not listing specific articles and findings). How will the new knowledge from this proposed research address the research gap?)  Significance of the present study to advance research (consider addressing statements such as: How do you know this research is needed? Why is the topic important? How will your proposed research offer insights to improve educational practice or policy?)  Purpose of the study (refine from Assignment #4). Develop two introductions outlines and draft statements to your study: one using a qualitative focus and a second one from a quantitative focus. The same research problem and literature could be used in each introduction but may vary based on the research framework used. Deficiencies & significance may be similar as well, but the specific justification for the study should be different for two introductions. Make sure that elements 1-4 in the list above are included. Write so that your research idea is clear and compelling to readers. In each introduction (qualitative or quantitative), add subtitles to the following components: research problem, review of relevant studies, the deficiency/gap in the literature and significance of your study. After you design the qualitative introduction, please add the research question(s) and purpose at the end. Revise them as needed. In addition to a minimum of five peer reviewed empirical journal articles and other types of references that are used in literature review, please practice using references to support your view in the entire introduction. For instance, it’s common to use numerical information from evaluation reports to attract readers at the beginning of an introduction. You need a minimum of 10 references for each introduction. Make sure that you cite the research resources that are used in your assignments using APA style. A template is provided at the end of the document. You are required to follow the template to develop this assignment.
