InstructionThis assignment is for you to explore a topic of interest to you that is related to one or more of our readings and other materials assigned. 1. Give the topic a name 2. Explain it in 2-3 sentences 3. List 1-3 information sources you accessed in developing this topic. (optional). By doing this, I can get a better understanding of your direction, and be more helpful in offering supplemental materials. 4. Send it to me as an email. The Paper The paper is due Friday, July 16 at the end of the day. Grading Rubric: • The paper should have a title. • Five (5) pages, including any figures or illustrations, but not the references or endnotes. Double or 1-1/2 spaced. 12 pt. font. .pdf or Word documents only (no linked files that I would have to access on-line). • Use good grammar and check for spelling errors – proper editing is important to the grade. • Use in-text citation. This means that you give the (author year:page) in parentheses and at the end you have a list of References, organized by author last name. The references basically are: Last name, First name. Year. Title. City:Publisher. The style is American Sociological Association (ASA) or as given in the journals use this formatting style, particularly Amer. Sociological Review. You can either follow the formatting guide available on-line, or get a couple of ASR articles and look at how their references formatted.
