Is it possible to change the hypothesis because there is no overnight incubation but instead they will take the experiment in few minutes online in 1 day. I described the experiment that I will use in the instruction file 1st page. And last thing, if you can add what exactly was done in the experiments in the 4 references(2-3 sentence for 4 of them would be great)

  • In Brodt's article, the authors carried out research on the effects of the length of incubation on problem-solving. They mainly tested using the Remote Associates Test, using three different tasks—classical riddles, visual change detection, and anagrams—to examine various aspects of problem-solving and to pinpoint task-specific prerequisites for effects of incubation to emerging. The underlying mechanisms of such an incubation period could include unconscious processing that fosters spreading activation along with associated networks and the restructuring of problem representations. I found this article quite informative for our forthcoming term paper.

  • Henok and colleagues were keen to justify how well "incubation in tasks such as the CNP may help problem solving through restructuring following impasse by examining reasoner’s mental representation" They carried out an examine whether interactivity would moderate incubation in the CNP task. The expected result was that manipulating the physical elements of the problem should yield a higher solution rate than simulating moves mentally.

  • okay, in henok's article, the difference between experiments 1 and 2 is the level of manipulation and interaction with the physical elements. The two experiments led to the conclusion that incubation following the low interactivity led to significantly higher rate of solution in a highly interactive realization context as opposed to participants who tarted in a high-interactivity condition depressed performance considerably
