Your response should be approximately 300 words (quality is MUCH more important than length; you can write more if you wish). You do not need to provide a central argument for your response (although you may if you want to). Decide on the scope of your work yourself: Maybe you'd like to focus in depth on one particular issue. Alternatively, you might present an overview of several broad issues. Make sure you write your assignment on something you find interesting. May sure you provide weblinks to all of your sources of information (no particular referencing or citation style is needed). Use quotation marks around quotations that you use, and identify all sources of information. Do not let internet sources guide your response. Come up with your own idea. Please note that your assignment will be fed through turnitin.com, which will identify any of the following: Content that was not developed by the student, but which follows someone else's work. Sections that are entirely cut & pasted from internet sources. Sections that are largely copied from internet sources (but some of the vocabulary has been altered to disguise that it was taken from the internet). Work already submitted to turnitin.com (i.e., other student work). Any work submitted through spinner sites (e.g., Spinbot.com or similar sites) or translation sites will not be accepted. These produce such terribly awkward English that they will not receive a passing grade because they are so confusing and unclear. Your work will be evaluated according to the following: Accuracy Avoids excessive description and repetition Thorough, detailed, well organized, well planned, insightful, thoughtful, and well written. Take care organizing your work. You should separate your analysis into different paragraphs. Paragraphs should also be internally organized. Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence (which tells the reader what the paragraph is about). Everything in the paragraph should follow the topic sentence and be related to the same topic. You may also use section headers if you wish. Spend a long time polishing the English. Try to make it as clear and well written as possible.
