InstructionWEEK FIFTEEN DUE THIS WEEK REQUIRED: Paper #3: Multi-Genre Reflection- 20% of your entire course grade A couple of notes about the assignment: make sure you read the instructions thoroughly THIS IS NOT AN ESSAY (at least it is not required to be) your focus should be on the quality of your responses. I want to see specifics and great detail it is a personal reflection, so you are expected to talk about yourself, your life, and your thoughts I should see you spending most of your time answering the main question; you can incorporate answers to a couple of the other questions within the main discussion, or you can answer a couple after the main discussion. If you choose to answer them after, make sure you list the questions you chose before the answer. If you put them all together, put the questions at the top. NO RESEARCH!! The only texts you are using for this paper are the class readings and your brain Make sure you paper is formatted correctly You should have evidence from the class readings you discuss properly cited with in-text citations do NOT waste time answering ALL of the supplemental questions just pick about 2... 3 at the most. If you try to answer too many, your responses will likely lack quality and depth of development because you will want to stop at the page limit. The focus is on QUALITY and DEPTH! Discussion Board Questions & Comments from class Assignment Multi-genre analysis: Perception & Identity Identity & Perception Purpose: To help you process and synthesize your experience in this course so that you can consciously and purposefully transfer your learning into future courses and endeavors. Technical Concerns for a Written Response: The response must be typed int MyTCC under Assessments The response must be 2-4 pages (at least 1000 words) The response must cover at least 3 readings from this semester but no more than 4 from at least 2 genres The response must include proper in-text citations Assignment Guidelines: Write a 2-4 page reflective response in which you answer the question: “How are our identities & perceptions defined, and how does the literature covered this semester reflect the varied lenses people have and the idea that one’s perception is one’s reality”? Choose any of the following questions and provide detailed answers (using concrete examples to illustrate your points) to deepen your response as you seek to answer the above question: What knowledge of myself and my beliefs has been illuminated for me in this course? Here are a few concrete examples from my experience that illustrate my new self-knowledge. Which reading forced me to grapple the most with complexity this semester? What passages from the semester best defend my answer to the question above? Of all the readings I read this semester, which do I think is the best and why? Which is the weakest and why? How has my thinking changed over the course of the semester, and what new ideas or strategies will I take away from this course? What strategies did I see used in the writing that was most impactful? Be specific and thorough by discussing the readings specifically, citing from the reading specifically, referring to class discussions, and making connections outside of class. Notes: Though it is preferred, this does not need to be a standard essay, but it should have the depth of analysis and critical thinking that an essay would. If you choose to answer each question individually, the main question should have the longest response and the subsequent questions can have standard paragraph (6-10) sentence responses. There should be no source beyond the course reading, your brain, and class discussions. The majority of your text should be your own analysis and thoughts. Use evidence as the gravy not the meat.
