Instruction1. Read an assigned text, identify the author’s use of rhetorical strategies, and evaluate whether the writer’s rhetorical choices contribute to purpose and audience effectively or ineffectively. 2. Write according to length and format instructions: 800 words in a Microsoft Word Document, double spaced, 1-inch margins, 12 pt. font Times New Roman, and MLA style. 3. Document borrowed source material according to MLA standards. Incorporate at least three citations. You will need to “dialogue” with the author to determine whether the author has a strong argument or not. Express your understanding of the article, and support it with reflection and detail. You should state your assessment clearly and support it with persuasive points that could influence your reader to agree with your viewpoint. Since you will be working with a text, you must use quotations and paraphrases for this assignment. Those quotes and paraphrases must meet MLA specifications (see the Purdue OWL for more information). The essay should also include a Work(s) Cited section with properly formatted bibliographical information about the article.
