I am going to brief the horizontal and vertical analysis in a presentation to the professor in 2 weeks. My team is comparing JetBlu Airlines and Sprit Airlines so we can merge our made up airline company (Red White & Blue Airlines). I have completed the Analysis (Attached), I just don't know what to say about it though. I basically don't really know what the numbers are telling me. Can you tell me what you see so I know what I am looking at? I am no CPA, I have taken a few accounting courses in my undergraduate but this MBA degree is a different animal!!!

In layman terms, like if you were explaining it to a 8th grader; tell me what you see so that I have an idea what to say about this horizontal and vertical analysis. If you can anticipate a few questions the professor might have, id appreciate you jotting them down to. I don't need you to make my speech, I need you to get me to understand what I am looking at.

What I need from you is to brief the analysis to me, so I know what I I’m looking at. I need to know the story that the numbers are telling me. For instants, "this number means sprint airlines is in more debt than JetBlue and they are growing faster, etc... That statement may not be true, but do you understand what I need? Brief the attachment to me, what does it say? Its real, I made that spread sheet with real numbers, I just don't know how to analysis it.

My group is making a case to merger either with jetBlu or Sprit Airlines. I am comparing them with both of their Vertical and Horizontal analysis.   • We are almost on the right track, However, the merger will be between our fictitious airline (Red White and Blue airlines). We are not trying to merge JetBlue and spirit together. We are trying too figure out which airline would be better to merge with. I need to use the horizontal and vertical analysis to brief both companies and compare them with each other. This will determine which company (JetBlu or Spirit) we merge with.
