Instruction1. Write one or two paragraphs in your own words to answer the question below. Name a phylogenetic relationship between organisms that surprised you in this module. What is the evidence for that phylogenetic relationship? Example: I was surprised that green aliens are more closely related to algae than to humans (video, timestamp). The evidence includes that green aliens generate their own food through photosynthesis, like algae (video, timestamp), and do not have bones, unlike humans. Green aliens look more like humans than like algae, but it turns out that their tetrapod body plan is analogous to ours rather than homologous (URL). In other words, their four limbs function like ours, with two for locomotion and two for manipulating objects, but they have different structures from ours. That shows that humans and green aliens do not share a common ancestor more recent than the origin of algae. 1 point for using and citing resources correctly. Use at least two resources in this module as your only sources. Cite the URL or video title and timestamp. 1 point for using course vocabulary correctly. 2 for accurate DDDE. (Develop with Definitions, Details, and Examples). Feel free to send me a draft before posting it to the discussion. Email, message, Zoom. Use standard written English. 1/2 point deduction if there are 4 or more errors in spelling and/or punctuation. Pro tip: write first in Word, use spelling and grammar check, proofread, and then post. PART TWO Give short but complete answers to these 5 questions: 1) Name and describe three diets non-human primates utilize. 2) Name and describe three locomotion forms non-human primates utilize. 3) Describe different forms of communication for non-human primates. 4) Describe the basics in a multi-male/female social grouping for non-human primates. 5) Describe the basics in a polyandrous social grouping for non-human primates.
