  • There's not enough here for a formal research topic or special field project. There's no key topic statement. There are not any supporting points. There is no conclusion. Instead of looking at this from a "I like assisitive technology because it helps people" perspective, why not focus on WHAT assistive technology is, HOW it provides access to classes, campuses, course material, services at the college, the different types of assistive technology based on the functional limitations of several different types of disabilities. Use case studies ("how assistive technology helped me in college" examples from students from what was used, why it was used, how it was used, and how it was useful). You cannot get 12-15 pages of a research project based on this proposal. Rethink it and resubmit a revised proposal or contact me for a zoom/google meeting so we can discuss further. I'm happy to coach you if you want to brainstorm.

  • Be specific about what technologies you're examining. Be specific about limiting your study/comparison to 2-3 institutions with similar size and student representation, with similar economic foundations (upper middle class, middle class, lower middle class for example). Be able to compare students of specific types of preparation and pre-college knowledge, experience, training in appropriate AT (did they receive training from the School for the Blind? Have experience in JAWS? Have training in Braille, LaTeX, or Nemeth Braille?).
