You received notice from your bank that the $500,000 life insurance death benefit payment from the estate of your late grandfather will be in your bank account on Monday 3/1/21, and as of that date you need to start developing an investment management plan with the goal of having a full multi-year plan detailed in a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation by no later than 5/10/21. You must figure out how much of the inheritance in combination with your salary each year to invest in your retirement savings plans so you can begin your retirement comfortably by age 65 (Medicare Eligibility Age), and this is a priority that must be calculated as a multi-year funding requirement as the top goal for your long-term wealth accumulation. You want to immediately fund an education account for your two young children that are ages 2 and 3. You want enough in the account to fully pay for their 4 year education at a state public university when they are of age to attend (18 years old for each). The education fund is an intermediate-term financial goal that must balance the need for adequate initial funding with the reduction of your inheritance that may be used toward your retirement objectives and your desire to fund a brokerage account to secure a better quality of life during your working years. You want to use a portion of the money to fund a brokerage account to invest on a non-retirement basis with the goal to increase the financial quality of your life during the years before your retirement. Your first objective is to monitor and track the performance of your investments over a 45 day period that begins in the middle of March to the beginning of May. Select the brokerage or brokerage houses and explain the features of the account you will be opening as you outline your strategies to utilize the account to help you achieve all of your financial goals in the project by no later than the end of March 2021. Be sure to begin to start an analysis of your debts, tax situation, and your own inheritance plans for your young children and start drafting a preliminary investment plan for the education funds for your two young children and submit that as a 3 page narrative for your Quiz 2 submission by 3/14/21. Write your investment objectives based on your own individual circumstances, career aspirations, risk tolerances, and future financial priorities before investing any proceeds from your inheritance and draft this document by no later than end of March 2021. We will review whatever details of your draft investment plan for the education funds for your two young children that you are willing to share in class during our week #9 virtual session. Additionally, I will reveal all of the project requirements in week #9, including the maximum length of your final PPT presentation due by 5/10/21.
