InstructionLook in your backyard, a nearby park, along the sidewalk, at a nursery or garden center, or even houseplants that you may have! Find and take pictures of plants that come from at least 3 of the 5 different categories - moss, fern, gymnosperm, and angiosperm (monocot and dicot). You need to have pictures of ALL 5 categories for this assignment. If you were not able to find examples of all 5 categories, look on the internet for examples of the remaining one or two categories. In your assignment, make sure to include a link to where you found any photos from the internet. You need to take photos of plants from at least 3 categories. You are only allowed to use the internet for one or two categories. Make sure your picture is in focus and shows the plant well. Do not submit a picture that has plants from multiple categories (like a moss and angiosperm together); make sure only one category is featured in each photo. Insert the photos into a word document or powerpoint presentation - one picture per page/slide. Add a label for the category (e.g. moss, fern, etc.), and, if you know it, the name of the plant (e.g. cinnamon fern, pine tree, dandelion). Add a brief description of the major features of that category of plant (moss, fern, gymnosperm, monocot angiosperm, dicot angiosperm), as well as the habitat in which it was found. Your description should include: traits such as presence or absence of vascular tissue, how it reproduces, unique characteristics like flowers, pine cones, inability or ability to grow tall, etc. for the angiosperms, also include the features that make it a monocot or dicot the habitat in which it was found (if you found it in a garden center, describe the habitat it would likely be found in) Save the document/presentation as a PDF and submit it to this assignment. EXAMPLE (you may NOT copy the description for your assignment): This cycad is an example of a gymnosperm. It is a vascular plant, meaning that it contains specialized tissues to transport water and nutrients. Because it has vascular tissues, it is able to grow fairly tall. It reproduces using seeds, but it does not bear flowers or fruit, which differentiates it from angiosperms. Cycads are generally found in tropical regions of the world today.
