In a post of between 300-500 words, completely answer one of the three questions below from “The Ransom of Hector.” ***Requirements: 1) your language should be formal and academic, 2) you must include three quotations from the primary source to support your claims, and 3) you must demonstrate a deeper understanding of the text, rather than surface-level details. ***Example of an MLA in-text citation: For example, in the beginning, Montresor says, “It was about dusk, one evening during the supreme madness of the carnival season, that I encountered my friend” (179). ***For more help with MLA citations, click on Writing Resources. Answer one of the following in a post between 300-500 words: 1. Explore Homer’s use of epithets throughout “The Ransom of Hector.” From a literary standpoint, what effect is he after? Be as specific as possible. 2. Use evidence from “The Ransom of Hector” to assert who has ultimate control over life and death in The Iliad. The gods? Fate? Human actions? Be as specific as possible. 3. Surprisingly, The Iliad says nothing of a Trojan horse or a decisive end to the war. With this in mind, revisit Priam and Achilles’ meeting to speculate the deeper meaning of The Iliad. If not the war, what is the epic poem about?
