I. Information about the production itself, including: A. Title B. Playwright C. Director D. Date of performance you saw E. Location of performance you saw II. Brief synopsis of the plot or a short summary of what the play is about. III. The actors, specifically how the actors performed their parts. Discuss the main characters and the performances of any other actor that stood out to you, including why the performance stood out. A. Include what was strong (good) or weak (bad) in their performances. Be specific and name what you liked or did not like and why. IV. The scenic, lighting, and sound designs. Discuss each of these elements. Include the general set, lighting and sound designs. What does each contribute to the production? V. The costumes; period, style. What do they contribute to the production? VI. The genre, type, or period of the play. The period refers to the era and country in which it is set. A. What does the play reflect or say about that time period? VII. What are the philosophical, social, religious, and/or political issues the play deals with, and how does the play deal with them? VIII. The ticket stub must be attached to the cover sheet. 50 points for the paper itself. Each of the 8 sections will be worth a maximum of 6 points each. Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax are worth another 2 points. Failing to follow the required layout of the paper will result in a loss of 2 points. The required layout of the paper includes 1-inch margins all around, 1.5 spacing, Times New Roman, 11 pt. font, justified margins.
