Project Summary: There are many fictional novels in which microorganisms are central characters in the plot. These novels can be useful learning tools. In this course you will select and read the novel Vector by Robin Cook. As you read the novel, you will write your thoughts in a MicroBlog to be submitted electronically (below) . In the blog entries you should provide a brief summary of the story as you read it, but I especially want you to focus on the description of the microorganisms, the associated diseases and treatments, and discuss what you are learning from the novel in the context of the course. You are expected to post at least five entries in the MicroBlog. Each blog post should be 500-700 words in length, and you are expected to read and write about the entire book. You are also expected to find two articles from the scientific or clinical literature relating to the microbes in the novel, and discuss what you learned from those articles. The quality of content and writing in MicroBlog postings will be evaluated using a rubric posted in the course content. The first blog entry must be posted no later than Monday February 22nd 2016. The novel and MicroBlog postings must be completed by the last day of classes i.e. Friday April 29th 2016. MicroBlogs will be private and read only by the instructor. ====================== Additional Information ====================== Project Type: Book Report Project Level: College / University Number of Pages: 6
