Project Summary: The world’s history of aggression and violence against women has been well documented. Only recently have we recognized and acknowledged the complexity of the problem. The cycle of victim identification, stalking, manipulation, and attack varies from case to case. Sexual violence can come in the form of an isolated incident or a long series of incidents. It can involve strangers, partners, relatives, friends, and acquaintances. Sexual victimization carries a wide range of physical and emotional scars, and the responses to the victims can either be healing or add to the pain and distress.
