Project Summary: 1000 word essay, Topic A research question is, essentially, the goal or outcome of our research process. It's what we're trying to accomplish by conducting research. For this semester, I want us to consider the current state of arts and speech in Florida. There has been a great deal of political discourse surrounding what are commonly referred to as "culture war" issues. These issues are heavily influencing how we, as a state, present ideas or consider topics of conversation. I don't want you all to go into this conversation with the sensationalized, popular media depictions. Your goal, instead, is to find out why these "culture war" issues that influence political discourse in Florida are so prominent right now. You'll eventually take a position on how we can help improve the quality of discourse in the state of Florida.
