Project Summary: Students will produce a paper that examines a theme of Catholic social thought consisting of at least 3 pages (900 words). The papers will be typed in double space, 1.25" left and right margins and 12 pt New Times Roman font. Themes of Catholic social thought include human dignity, common good, option for the poor, economic justice, solidarity, subsidiarity, stewardship, rights and responsibilities, and peace, among others. The purpose of this papers is to deepen one's inquiry into the subject matter by applying, analyzing, comparing, explaining and querying Catholic social thought. These are not superficial opinion papers, i.e., what you liked or didn't like about a particular reading. These papers should reflect a serious grappling with the challenging messages contained within this tradition. These papers require proper referencing of non-original materials when appropriate.
