Project Summary: This assignment will give you the opportunity to delve deep into a social issue and target population of your choice. The issue you choose is one of many social issues that social workers encounter in their work. You will look at the social issue from many angles in the weekly assignments. You will learn what social workers must consider as they work with people who are experiencing the social issue you choose. Note: The social issue and target population you choose in this assignment is the issue and population you are to use for each of the remaining assignments. Choose one of the following social issues of special interest to you: 1.Substance abuse 2.Domestic violence 3.Child abuse 4.LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered) community 5.Immigration 6.
