Project Summary: One Page Reflection on Language and Identity: - A major tenet of sociolinguistics is that there is a firm connection between our language/dialect and our identity (gender, sexual orientation, profession, economic/social standing, place of birth/place of residence, etc.). Can you think of a television show or movie that provides an example of this? If you are at a loss, consider looking at a show like “Pittsburgh Dad” or Saturday Night Live’s “The Californians.” What about a movie like Clueless?
