Project Summary: Imagine this scenario: It is a few years in the future; you have graduated from IUP and been hired by a non-profit which works with peoples with disability. This non-profit organization has recently bought 20 acres of land in Western Pennsylvania for the purpose of opening a summer camp for children and youth (K-12) with disabilities. A few weeks after the land purchase took place, your boss discovers there is a White Supremacist group active in the areas where the camp is to be located. Even though she is your boss, she was recently hired because of her expertise in administration and is not that familiar with disability issues. She hands you a copy of the Rewire News story, “The Growing Neo-Nazi Public Profile is of Grave Concern to Disabled People” and asks you to write a reflection paper on how the organization might take pro-active steps to garner local support for the camp.
