Project Summary: In Dan Pink's presentation "The Puzzle of Motivation"he looks at the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic rewards.He uses a simple experiment of a candle, box and some push pins to make some compelling observations about human nature.He argues that most companies look at rewarding employees extrinsically through bonuses, stock options, company ownership and other monetary rewards.His presentation suggests that the best employers create a "Results Oriented Work Environment".He cites the practices of Google and other companies where employees are allowed to create/innovate in their areas of passion.
