Project Summary: BUDGET ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS In this assignment, you will be demonstrating your competency in budgeting and resource management. Using the public health activity you As director of a local public health agency, you are eligible to apply for a $250,000 through the Riverdale Foundation to spend on the public health program or activity that you proposed in Module 3. You must now submit a budget and a budget justification narrative to access the funds. Several budget examples are provided. The examples are so that you can see the categories used in a typical grant budget. And, in the budget you construct, you must justify, i.e., specify how and why each expenditure is needed. For example, under salaries you will need to specify that you need a nurse providing a typical salary (and dont forget fringes- insurance costs are about 30% in addition to salary) and you must also explain what this nurse will be doing, e.g.,10 chart reviews per week, 25 home visits per week. If you purchase equipment, what is it intended to do. For example, Hemacue @$2500 will be used to screen clients for anemia, a marker of malnutrition. Dont forget supplies to run the project office and activities. Submit your 2 page max budget and justification to the drop box by Saturday at 1155 PM. Include both a narrative and a spreadsheet (or table) of your proposed budget.
