Project Summary: One of the basic kinds of knowledge in philosophy has been knowledge based on self-evident propositions, such as all bachelors are unmarried men. Self-evident propositions are such that they are known intuitively and seemingly independent of experience. They are referred to as a priori, a Latin term meaning that the truth of the proposition is independent of experience. But if there are such propositions, they would constitute a serious problem for any theory of knowledge that is founded on a causal relationship between the perceiver and the world of objects. You are to write a paper in which you explain the concept of self-evident propositions and how they constitute a form of knowledge. Length: 2 pages, typed and double-spaced.
